Our client is a large and reputable food manufacturing company located in Port Coquitlam, BC. On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Plant Superintendent. This is a full-time permanent opportunity with benefits starting day one. This is a morning shift. You will be working on-site full-time and reporting to the Plant Manager. You will be overseeing 120-130 employees.

The Plant Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day order fulfillment activities at the Port Coquitlam facility while maintaining efficient production in the desired quality and quantity. This position leads the Plant Production Team in achieving key performance indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service and cost.

Your tasks as a Plant Superintendent:

•Demonstrates leadership to production supervisors and hourly employees to ensure consistent quality of work.

• Ensure that the assigned business metrics including yield, labor efficiency, line speed, sanitation and overhead expenses are achieved.

•Ensure timely fulfilment of customer orders within the specifications.

•Ensure product quality and adherence to production specifications to meet customer expectations and business objectives.

•Maintain a safe working environment.

•Monitor effective deployment of Human Resources programs and practices throughout the plant and ensure the correct administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years as a Plant Superintendent/Production Manager/ Assistant Plant Manager within a food manufacturing company (ideally within meat manufacturing)

• 3+ years managing production within a unionized work environment

•Proven experience in, and ability to manage within the terms and conditions of the collective agreement(s) and corporate human resources policies.

• Degree in Business or engineering is nice to have

• Ability to pass a background check

• ability to work OT time

•Knowledge of computer applications, including work processing and spreadsheets
