Production Supervisor (Night Shift)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our night shift operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high-quality standards, and achieving on-time delivery within our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience from the manufacturing sector, possess a strong understanding of continuous improvement principles, and excel in both giving and receiving constructive feedback.

Position Overview:

As the Production Supervisor for the evening shift, you will be responsible for planning and managing the activities of unionized workers in our shop. Your leadership will foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring the optimal performance of our processes.

Location: Saint John, New Brunswick

Shift Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM (4 ten-hour shifts).

Key Responsibilities:

– Uphold and promote the company’s quality standards, including ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.

– Advocate and enforce safety and environmental practices within the workplace.

– Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.

– Proficient use of applicable software programs, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, to support operations.

– Foster a respectful and collaborative workplace environment, supporting company initiatives and ensuring effective communication among team members.

– Coordinate employee training, scheduling, and performance management, including disciplinary actions as needed.

– Collaborate with Inside Sales and Shipping departments to ensure timely delivery of products.

– Conduct inventory cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.

– Champion safety standards and practices, ensuring a secure working environment for all employees.

– Resolve team conflicts and maintain a consistent approach across the team, promoting a strong sense of teamwork.

Required Qualifications:

– A Technology Diploma and/or a minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.

– At least 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.

– Strong understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles.

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and strong working relationships.

– Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams.

– Commitment to continuous learning, development, and improvement.

– Solid decision-making skills and the ability to execute goals and strategies effectively.

– Knowledge and experience in quality management systems.
