Buyer – Interview now for a March Start!

A leading precision manufacturer of metal components and sub-assemblies, employing cutting-edge techniques in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Location: Oakville, ON

Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm (Monday-Friday)

Salary: $70k-$75k and flexible depending on experience.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors based on factors such as price, quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers to secure favorable terms and achieve cost savings.
• Review purchase requisitions, analyze inventory levels, and forecast future demand to determine optimal procurement strategies.
• Place purchase orders and track order status to ensure timely delivery of materials while minimizing inventory carrying costs.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including production, logistics, and finance teams, to align procurement activities with operational needs and budgetary constraints.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information in the procurement system/database.
• Resolve issues and disputes with suppliers regarding quality, quantity, pricing, and delivery discrepancies.
• Stay informed about regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to procurement practices.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a buyer, procurement specialist, or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, perform cost analysis, and make informed purchasing decisions.
• Proficiency in procurement software/systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, inventory control, and logistics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, FDA) is a plus.
• Experience in ERP is a MUST
