Your tasks as the Production Supervisor

• Proven commitment to employee health, safety and housekeeping
• Ability to personally embrace and instill in others Safety Standards and the Guelph’s Glass Plant’s Courage to Intervene.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for clearly defined shift specific metrics in all areas including quality standards, labour optimization, efficiencies, production standards, employee engagement and employee training.
• Ability to think strategically to ensure effective planning in the areas of labour, training, performance management, communication and accountabilities for their shift.
• Effectively communicates expectations to hourly employees along with process, maintenance, sourcing and human resources support groups to ensure results are clearly understood and delivered.
• Communicates shift performance and issues on a shift by shift basis to ensure all support groups have a clear understanding of issues requiring responses.
• Demonstrates a team player mindset through actions which serve to enhance performance not just within their shift but also across the operation
• Results driven with a proven ability to meet or exceed expectations by engaging the appropriate resources.
• Ensures consistent application of Legislative requirements, Company Policies and Procedures and the provisions of the Collective Agreement.
• Demonstrates effective dispute resolution strategies to minimize the need for the formal grievance process.
• Demonstrates keen problem-solving abilities to ensure that issues, inconsistencies and inefficiencies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

The required qualifications of the Production Supervisor:

• Completion of Secondary School and/or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of leadership/supervisor experience in manufacturing environment.
• A proven track record of driving results through employee engagement and problem-solving skill
• Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology, deployment and sustainment.
• Experience driving results in a unionized environment
• Safety first mindset
• Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and rally a team around a shared goal
• Strong change management skills
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Inspire, engage, and connect with others
• Team-building and collaboration
• Engage self and others in learning
• Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
