Commercial Service Technician Apprentice

Location: Prince George, BC

Fuze HR is actively seeking innovative and customer-centric individuals to join our team as Apprentice Commercial Service Technicians. In this role, you will support commercial and industrial customers by servicing and installing doors and docks. This apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity for career growth within our business, with the potential to become a master technician.

Position Details: This position will require a significant amount of out-of-town work in Northern or Remote areas. However, we offer paid lodging and hotels, along with excellent opportunities for overtime and a $2.00/hour industrial premium during these projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in servicing and installing various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, fire doors, vehicle restraints, impact doors, and loading dock equipment.
  • Aid in repairing and troubleshooting defective equipment.
  • Help maintain proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping by detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments in a timely manner.
  • Observe lead technicians interacting with customers, end-users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
  • Assist in performing routine preventative maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals.
  • Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or their designate.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in rolling, high-speed, sectional, dock levelers, and mega door preferred.
  • Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (overnight, weekends, on call).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to handle a physical workload.
  • Proficiency with power tools.
  • Capability to work independently.
  • Service-oriented individual with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Adaptability to a changing work environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Basic math skills.

Working Conditions:
