We are looking for a motivated skilled trades assistant to provide full time support to the millwrights & other trades at a fast-paced production facility based in northeast Richmond. What are the Responsibilities?

• Machine maintenance – the assistant will primarily be responsible for assisting licensed millwright in day-today maintenance of industrial equipment, including galvanizing lines, wiredraw machines, mesh machines, nail machines, packing lines, and more
• Preventative maintenance inspections (including repairs and adjustments)
• Rebuild/repair gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, prime movers, and hoists with the support of senior trades
• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
• Operate cranes/other hoisting and lifting equipment
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery, assist other trades as required

What are the Requirements?

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, must be comfortable supporting millwrights in all responsibilities
• Experience in gearbox repairs, pneumatic and hydraulic repair, overhead crane operation
• Candidates should present basic troubleshooting skills
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to recognize and assist in resolving issues
• Must be excited to learn and grow as part of the maintenance team – not looking for “that’s not my job” types, this is a support role that offers significant growth potential for individuals that display aptitude and motivation
• Team-oriented individuals who take direction well will be prioritized
• Must be safety conscious, willing and able to uphold stringent safety standards
