Logistics Manager – Commodities And Trading

On behalf of our client, a leader in agricultural commodities trading, we are searching for a Logistics Manager to join their team in Oakville Ontario.

As a Logistics Manager you will:

• Be self motivated and able to make decisions quickly.
• Able to lead a team of 8-10 logistics coordinators and documentation specialists both in Oakville and virtually from overseas.
• Come with knowledge of logistics related to ocean container, railway, dry containers.
• Cross border experience, securing products from the US to bring to Canada.
• Knowledge of customs documentation.
• Inventory and freight management background.
• Able to negotiate freight rates with trucking and shipping lines.
• Experience coordinating full cycle logistics from origin to destination.
• Able to ensure timely fulfillment of all sales and purchase contracts.
• Confident in resolving claims as they arise and able to analyze operational performance.
• Work collaboratively across the trading team and other departments, communicating position on a regular basis.
• Past experience supervising logistics and documentations teams.
