Role: Customer Service Specialist – Collections department

Location: Montreal, QC downtown – Hybrid after training (3 days office and 2 days home)

Responsibilities:

  • Collect high value/low volume and low value/high volume receivables according to invoice payment dates
  • Meet collection targets and performance objectives set by management
  • Review customer accounts and invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Resolve billing disputes or discrepancies with customers or internal departments
  • Record and update information on customer payments and collection activities in database or system
  • Ensure that all customer actions are covered and documented, validated and that account details are archived accurately and in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Prepare and send statements, notices and reports to customers and management
  • Collaborate with global colleagues and team members to improve the collections organization
  • Follow up on overdue accounts, initiate collection actions where necessary and monitor payment plans
  • Establish and manage customer relationships for key accounts
  • Monitor trends and provide feedback to management
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service experience is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in a collections environment using multiple communication channels (telephone, chat, CRM system) is preferred
  • College diploma is required, a relevant University Degree is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, SAP, CRM systems (Sales Force) and Microsoft applications (Advanced Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint) is a plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish. Knowledge of French and other languages is an asset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and persuasion skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, attention to detail and accuracy
