The Manager of Accounting and Assurance will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the preparation and review of various financial tasks such as compilation, review, and audit engagements, covering tax returns, HST filings, and bookkeeping.
• Managing engagements effectively and keeping Partners informed of progress.
• Understanding each client’s industry to recognize important performance drivers, business trends, and staying updated on industry developments.
• Handling both simple and complex accounting, audit, and tax issues as they arise.
• Supporting the development of junior staff by providing technical guidance and mentoring.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and staff at all levels.

The required qualifications for the Manager of Accounting and Assurance are:

• Canadian CPA designation.
• 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in public accounting.
• Proficiency in the CICA Handbook, review procedures, and tax compliance.
• Capability to offer proactive solutions for complex assurance matters to clients, partners, and team members.
• Track record in effectively managing and nurturing staff during engagements.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated skills in project and time management.
• Familiarity with Caseware, Jazzit, and Taxprep would be advantageous.
• Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and handle shifting client deadlines.
