Machine Operator – $21.50/hour

We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our team on a day shift in Ottawa !

Overview:

• 44 hours a week
• Competitive pay rate – $21.50/hour
• Full time opportunity (3 month contract)
• Straight Day shift (Mon – Fri, 7:00am – 3:15pm)

Main responsibilities:

• Operate overhead crane, bar bending, and sheer machines (training provided)
• Reading and following instructions on the bar lists provided in order to fabricate rebar
• Assisting equipment operators in material handling
• Tagging fabricated bundles for identification purposes
• Assisting in housekeeping duties for the yard and shop
• All other related tasks

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Basic math/measurement skills
• Safety shoes
• Experience in the steel industry (strong asset)
