Position: Senior Accountant (Maternity Leave Coverage)

About the Opportunity:
Fuze HR is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a dynamic team in Abbotsford, BC, to provide maternity leave coverage. The role is expected to start as soon as possible and will continue until June 2026.
This hybrid role requires a minimum of one day per week in the office and is ideal for candidates with a strong background in accounting, payroll, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and create adjusting journal entries as required.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly analyses of key financial data to support management decision-making.
- Record fixed asset additions and maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger.
- Process bi-weekly payroll, applying collective agreements and non-union policies, while maintaining accurate employee records in ADP.
- Document and enhance internal accounting controls and create detailed procedural manuals.
- Reconcile company bank accounts and credit card processing accounts regularly.
- Assist in monthly and annual financial closing schedules and maintain recurring journal entry schedules.
- Prepare the monthly Sales Commission Report and Union Fringe Reporting, including annual wage updates.
- Support the preparation of regulatory, provincial, and federal tax and business reporting.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting functions through software and data management tools.
- Provide support during month-end reporting, including occasional overtime or working holidays (e.g., September 30th, with a day off in lieu).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a full-cycle accounting role.
- Post-secondary training in accounting and a strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Sage 300 is highly preferred.
- General understanding of internal controls and compensating controls.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines for month-end and year-end reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Integrity, reliability, dedication, and a willingness to learn and ask questions.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range: $70,000–$80,000, depending on experience.
- Hybrid work model with flexibility (minimum one day per week in the Abbotsford office).

Additional Details:
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Vacation: 4–6%, based on experience.
- Office Layout: Open office space.
- Start Date: Immediate.
- End Date: June 2026 (covering a maternity leave).
