Job Summary
As the Junior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen. You will be responsible for managing and developing our skilled team of line cooks, ensuring the consistent and high-quality preparation of all menu items. Your expertise and leadership will be essential in maintaining the efficient flow of the kitchen and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing daily menu operations
– Oversee the line cooks, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
– Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols
– Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new and innovative menu items
– Manage inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies to maintain optimal stock levels
– Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise in the kitchen during service
– Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for the culinary team
Qualifications
– a minimum of one year in a kitchen supervisory role
– Strong leadership and team management skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
– Proficient in food preparation, plating, and presentation
– Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position with a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate our business hours. The kitchen environment can be physically demanding, with prolonged periods of standing, lifting, and exposure to hot surfaces and equipment.
