Forklift-Walkie

We have an opportunity for an experienced Shipper & Receiver/Forklift to join the operations team. The Shipper & Receiver/Forklift Operator is responsible for performing material handling, clean-up, and packaging and other elemental activities related to Warehouse & Distribution requirements. They operate Walkie, and other machinery to move items, and materials on and off trucks and loading docks. Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean. Open containers, sort, and catalog materials. Adheres and complies with all workplace and food safety regulations.

Functions & Responsibilities:
The Forklift Operator I is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also be required to perform order filler or order checker duties in addition to his or her own.
This position is responsible for operating a Walkie.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using a forklift, clamp, push-pull equipment.
  2. Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations
  3. Pulls and prepares products for shipment
  4. Ensures that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
  5. Performs picking duties in an efficient manner meeting customer service standards
  6. Moves product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
  7. Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
  8. Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security
  9. Assists in physical inventories
  10. Ensures proper stock rotation
  11. Conducts cycle counts as requested
  12. Must have Excel knowledge plus general computer knowledge.
  13. Basic safety understanding in operating equipment
  14. Responsible for reporting safety concerns to management in a timely manner
  15. Report inventory discrepancies to inventory control team and assists in resolution
  16. Must be able to complete inspection form prior operating equipment
  17. Must be able to use RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory
Skill/Experience/Education
  1. Mandatory Skills
  2. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  3. At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment
  4. Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  5. Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs without restriction.
  6. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  7. Walking in the DC and around area with great frequency, facilities are over a quarter mile in length.
  8. Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation and able to access all areas of building without limitations.
  9. Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  10. Must be able to get NFI forklift certified
  11. Must have attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and basic math skills
