Job Description: Test Lab and Prototype Manager – Windsor

We are seeking a Test Lab and Prototype Manager to lead our testing and prototyping efforts. This role involves overseeing the development, execution, and management of test procedures, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
    • Manage the test lab team, providing guidance and support to engineers and technicians.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and solutions.
  • Testing and Prototyping:
    • Develop and implement testing protocols for seat comfort systems, including mechanical, thermal, and ergonomic evaluations.
    • Oversee the design and fabrication of prototypes, ensuring alignment with product specifications and performance requirements.
    • Analyze test data and generate comprehensive reports, presenting findings to stakeholders and recommending improvements.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including safety and environmental considerations.
    • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to enhance product reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate testing feedback into the design process.
    • Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and testing facilities to enhance testing capabilities and resources.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead initiatives to improve testing methodologies and lab operations, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in seat comfort and testing practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in testing, prototyping, or product development within the automotive or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, data analysis, and quality assurance processes.
  • Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
