Position: Service and Installation Technician – Commercial/Industrial Doors and Docks

Hourly Rate: Commercial/Industrial Doors and Docks Installation

  • Hourly Rate: $35.81
  • Comprehensive package: $42.60/hr total
  • Location: Mississauga, Ontario but servicing, Milton and Guelf area
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday (9-hour days) | Friday (8-hour day)
  • Overtime: Common and available weekly
  • Company Vehicle: Take-home van provided

We are seeking experienced technicians with expertise in commercial and industrial doors and docks to join our team, focusing on the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead doors, dock bay doors, and other equipment used in commercial and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities: Commercial/Industrial Doors and Docks Installation

  • Service & Installation: Install, troubleshoot, and repair various commercial/industrial products such as loading dock equipment, vehicle restraints, sectional doors, and rolling doors.
  • Problem Solving: Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot defective equipment and resolve on-site issues.
  • Inventory & Timekeeping: Maintain truck stock and inventory while accurately documenting job numbers, travel time, and job details.
  • Customer Interactions: Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, contractors, and end-users.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment.
  • Upselling Opportunities: Identify and suggest additional services or products to customers when appropriate.
  • Team Contribution: Participate in ongoing training and team activities to support company growth and continuous improvement.

Qualifications: Commercial/Industrial Doors and Docks Installation

  • Experience: 4-10 years of experience working with overhead doors, sectional doors, rolling doors, and loading dock equipment in commercial/industrial environments.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Electrical Skills: Basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license (Class 5) with a clean driving record.
  • Workload Handling: Comfortable with physical tasks and working at heights.
  • Tools Proficiency: Skilled in the use of power tools; own hand tools are required.
  • On-Call & Overtime: Willingness to be on-call and work overtime (we provide 24-hour service).
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to varying work conditions, including outdoor environments and changing weather.
  • Professionalism: Strong interpersonal skills and effective written/verbal communication.

  • Exposure to outdoor environments and various weather conditions.
  • Dusty, dirty, and oily work environments are common.
