JOB POSTING: CNC Plasma and Oxy-Fuel Burning Machines Operator
Fuze HR is looking for A competent and skilled CNC Plasma and Oxy-Fuel burning machines operator to join our team. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of carbon steel cutting processes, ability to produce products meeting customer and industry specification, and the ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced
environment. The applicant to be:
- Mechanically inclined and detail oriented
- 1 year experience operating a programable oxy fuel or plasma burn table
- Experienced in reading blueprints a plus
- able to read a tape measure and understand tolerance application to specifications
- strong math skills and first piece measurement verification habit (First-off) prior to burning
- willingness to work any shift or working overtime
Duties
- Above all, pay attention to safety around worktables, and use provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Setup, operate, and troubleshoot one or more 2-axis CNC plasma cutting machines.
- Move large steel parts and plate using overhead crane with clamps, magnets, vacuum lifters and other attachments/lifting aids.
- Read part drawings, instructions and other production documents.
- Check plate before commencing work against specifications, and finished parts for quality expectations.
- Perform and document quality inspections.
- Document work completed and sign relevant documents as needed
- Use lifting equipment such as overhead crane and mobile lift truck
Requirements
- Experience operating CNC plasma or oxyfuel flame cutting machines.
- Experience operating overhead cranes, preferably with valid record of training.
- Perform manual material handling up to 23 kgs (50 lbs.).
- Perform standing and repetitive work including bending, twisting and lifting.
- Read, write, and speak English at a conversational level.
- Perform basic math and ability to read technical drawings
Work environment and physical requirements:
The employee will frequently be required to:
- Sit, stand, walk, alternating up to 8 hours at a time
- Use both hands for grasping, handling, gripping and feeling textures and temperatures
- Be alert to equipment working in the local area
The employee will occasionally be required to:
- Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, bend, twist at waist level, reach at and/or above shoulder level and below waist level. Push, pull and lift, guide moving plates attentively and avoiding potential hazards.
The position requires the following vision and hearing capabilities:
- Vision at near, mid and far range and peripheral vision and depth perception
- Talking and hearing in person, on audio speakers, and/or in group settings
The employee will be required to use the following machines or tools:
- Desktop computer, Hand tools, overhead remote operated cranes, Oxy-fuel hand torch
This position is full time, 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, and is eligible for overtime. Company benefits after a three- months’ probation. Pay rate $23 – $24 per hour depending on experience
