Maintenance Team Leader

WINNIPEG (near the airport)

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for leading maintenance operations within the service center to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant and facility systems. This role is a key contributor to supply chain performance, supporting production continuity and operational excellence.

Leadership & Safety

· Champion a Zero Harm safety culture

· Ensure full compliance with company policies and all applicable local, provincial, and federal safety regulations

· Train, coach, and motivate maintenance staff to meet performance and safety objectives

· Conduct LOTO training and support safety audits (including GAP audits)

· Interview, evaluate, and support onboarding of maintenance team members

· Coach and sign off on completed apprentice hours

Maintenance & Operations

· Lead corrective and preventative maintenance activities on industrial equipment

· Review, prioritize, and manage work orders, PM programs, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

· Execute and oversee all CMMS activities; maintain system accuracy and act as an in-house CMMS resource/trainer

· Coordinate internal resources, external contractors, vendors, and engineering/project teams

· Schedule major maintenance activities, including weekend work when required

· Manage equipment downtime in relation to production and shift reporting

· Coordinate procurement, receipt, and inventory of maintenance parts and consumables

Technical Expertise

· Troubleshoot and repair:

· Perform or oversee welding and fabrication work

· Apply basic machine shop skills (drill press, grinding, measuring, hand filing)

· Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (CSA, ESA, TSSA, OSHA)
