As we expand our operations, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Lead Hand to ensure the smooth functioning of our equipment and facility.
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Lead Hand will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring the continuous operation of equipment, and leading a team of maintenance technicians. This hands-on leadership role will involve both troubleshooting and repairing machinery while also managing team workflows to ensure minimal downtime in production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain the building’s HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and part replacements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors when needed.
- Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and safety awareness.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, WHMIS, and other relevant standards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- [Optional] Relevant trade certifications (e.g., Millwright, Electrician) are an asset.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical diploma or certification in a related field (e.g., Millwright, Electrical, Mechanical) is highly preferred.
