Position Summary:
As the Lead Hand, you will assist the Operations Supervisor in overseeing day-to-day warehouse activities and ensuring that service levels, productivity goals, and client expectations are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily warehouse operations and team activities.
- Monitor KPIs and ensure performance targets are met.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve scheduling or operational challenges.
- Support customer service representatives by ensuring urgent requests are fulfilled promptly.
- Ensure optimal space utilization and apply best warehousing practices.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with OH&S regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of combined warehouse and lead hand experience.
- Licensed and experienced operating forklifts, reach trucks, and walkies.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and best practices.
- Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning.
- Familiar with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations.
- Prior experience in a 3PL environment is an asset.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work full-time.
- If on a work permit, must have a minimum of 3 years remaining on the permit.
