Your tasks as the Legal Assistant – litigation
·Assist in the preparation and completion of various commercial litigation documentation including disputes related to construction and real property disputes, motion records, pleadings (Superior Court & Court of Appeal), notices, affidavits, affidavits of documents, court orders, and mediation briefs
·Prepare and complete all necessary correspondence and documentation
·Handle administrative details with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, and billing, etc.
·Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
·Extremely organized and meticulous with follow-up and detail and in dealing with matters containing voluminous documents and urgent turn around
·Produce the highest quality of work
·Accountable for all work assigned
The required qualifications of the Legal Assistant – Financial Services
·Minimum of five years’ litigation legal experience
·Successful completion of a post-secondary level legal assistant or law clerk course
·Previous experience with Caselines, Kofax, and Adobe
·Proficiency with linking cases & evidence into motion & application records
·Strong knowledge of the BC Rules of Civil Procedure
- Microsoft 365 suite of applications
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to problem solve
- Good judgement and decision making
- Strong interpersonal skills
