Title: Human Resources and Payroll Manager
Contract 12 months (Maternity leave replacement)
Hybrid 3 days office and 2 days from home

Summary:
The HR and Payroll Manager is responsible for handling all HR and payroll tasks. This person leads by example and supports the company’s goals by creating and improving HR-related programs and processes.

Main Responsibilities:
Payroll:

Make sure payroll processes follow all laws and regulations
-
Process payroll every two weeks for salaried employees
-
Check payroll for accuracy before finalizing
-
Handle all deductions like taxes, EI, CPP, RRSPs, benefits, and garnishments
-
Keep track of vacation days and attendance
-
Answer payroll-related questions from employees and government offices
-
Set up payroll for new employees
-
Help the Finance team with payroll checks and audits
-
Complete year-end reports like T4s, T2200s, and taxable benefit forms for the CRA
Group Benefits:

Manage benefit sign-ups, changes, and terminations

Make sure benefit deductions match payroll and monthly invoices

Answer questions from employees and outside contacts

Share benefit updates with employees
Human Resources:
-
Support managers and staff with HR-related questions and tasks

Write and post job openings internally and externally
-
Keep employee records up to date
-
Help with workplace safety and health programs
-
Support and coach managers
Qualifications:
-
At least 3 years of experience at a senior level of HR and Payroll
-
Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office and Excel
-
Good written and spoken communication skills in English
-
Functional level of French
-
Organized and able to meet deadlines
-
Trustworthy and keeps information confidential

Able to work independently but also contribute to the team

Takes initiative and looks for ways to improve things

Works well with others

Knowledge of employment laws, pay and benefits, hiring, employee relations, safety, engagement, and development

Strong people skills and experience coaching employees
