💲 Pay Rate: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour + 4% vacation pay

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to machine parts with precision.
• Perform polishing and finishing operations using hand tools, abrasives, and polishing machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to ensure design specifications are met.
• Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintain and troubleshoot machining and polishing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve production processes.
• Follow all workplace safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a machinist with polishing or finishing expertise.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.
• Proficiency in operating manual machine tools and polishing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
• Strong understanding of machining, finishing techniques, and quality control.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with CNC machine controls (preferred).
