Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer will play a key role in optimizing the organization’s production processes, systems, and procedures. This role is focused on analyzing operations, collaborating with personnel to design efficient workflows, increasing production efficiencies, and ensuring product quality standards are met. The Industrial Engineer will be instrumental in implementing manufacturing processes, automation, and equipment for the company’s new production facility in Woodstock, ON.

Responsibilities

– Review production processes, systems, and procedures to promote continuous improvement.

– Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives for production and upstream processes.

– Stay current on industry technology innovations and recommend necessary upgrades to management.

– Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring management control systems aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and minimizing costs.

– Work on continuous improvement of quality control procedures to address production challenges.

– Conduct workflow and time studies to optimize production throughput, capacity, and staffing needs.

– Develop and track KPIs related to production quality and efficiency.

– Create and manage process documentation and share efficiency analyses with operations as needed.

Technical Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.

– Strong knowledge of production machinery, processes, automation, and industry standards.

– Proficiency with software like Microsoft Office 365 and 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) software such as Tekla Structures. Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software is an asset.

– Experience or co-op placement in the precast concrete industry is considered a definite advantage.

– Ability to work effectively with a unionized, hourly workforce in a manufacturing setting.

– Majority of time will be spent in a production facility environment.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, including all levels of management.
