What are the Responsibilities?
- Responsible for safe, efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration system
- Document several readings (temperatures, pressures, ammonia compressor statistics) multiple times, daily.
- Communicate with Chief Refrigeration Operator to report abnormalities, suggest ideas for process improvements/maintenance enhancements
- Work closely with other maintenance technicians to support production processes, ensure equipment and facilities are in safe, operational order 24/7
- Attend radio calls for machine issues, help troubleshoot breakdowns and provide corrective maintenance solutions
- Work as a team with other maintenance technicians to perform preventative & predictive maintenance as per schedule
- Utilize CMMS to complete workorders and provide detailed reports.
- Support continuous improvement of the maintenance department
What are the Requirements?
- Appropriate trade qualification: 3rd Class Operating Engineer OR Class B Refrigeration Operator
- 3+ years of relevant maintenance & operating experience within a food production environment or similar
- Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and associated maintenance processes
- Familiarity with industrial production and packaging equipment desirable
- High regard for safety, must be willing and able to support safety culture
- Must be able to read and understand equipment schematics
- Must be willing and able to work a rotating continental shift (two weeks 6am-6pm and two weeks 6pm-6am)
