What You’ll Do
Set up and operate manual machining equipment including engine lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, and surface grinders
Machine one-off and small batch precision components to tight tolerances
Interpret and work from complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Perform advanced setups including indicating, alignment, and tooling selection
Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust processes for accuracy and efficiency
Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure proper machine operation
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

What We’re Looking For
8+ years of hands-on manual machining experience (non-CNC)
Strong expertise with manual lathes, mills, and grinders
Ability to machine complex parts from raw material with minimal supervision
Advanced blueprint reading and understanding of GD&T and tight tolerances
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience mentoring apprentices or junior machinists is an asset
Background in custom machining, tool & die, or repair work is highly preferred
