Senior Network Administrator
3‑Month Contract Assignment | Calgary, AB | Onsite
Position Overview
The Senior Network Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise network, server, and cloud infrastructure. This position is responsible for managing on‑premises and cloud environments, providing senior‑level technical support, and maintaining operational continuity across corporate and field locations.

Work Structure
- Hours: Full-time, standard business hours with periodic after-hours or weekend work for planned maintenance and critical incidents
- Work Model: Onsite
- Overtime: Occasional, dependent on project demands, outages, or scheduled maintenance windows
- Contract Term: 3-month contract assignment
- Team: Information Systems, reporting to the Team Lead, Information Systems
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on network administration experience
- 10+ years working with Windows Server, Exchange, IP networking, and virtualized environments
- Advanced expertise in:
- VMware administration
- Citrix environment management
- Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure
- Dell/EMC SAN technologies
- Firewall configuration, management, and support
- Enterprise backup solutions (Networker, Backup Exec, EVault)
- Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
- Strong understanding of network security, perimeter protection, and monitoring
- Proven experience supporting enterprise WAN, wireless networks, and remote/field connectivity
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to recommend and implement innovative solutions
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting plant-level or industrial infrastructure environments
- Exposure to Oracle, SQL Server, and Unix administration (Level 1 or 2 support)
- Experience with Trend Micro security solutions
- Familiarity with automation-related support (L2/L3)
- Vendor management and coordination experience
Certifications (or Equivalent Experience)
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSE or modern Azure certifications)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Cisco certifications (CCNA or CCNP)
- Security-focused certifications (e.g., Security+, CCSP) considered an asset
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain, support, and continuously improve network, server, and cloud infrastructure
- Administer VMware, Citrix, Azure, Dell/EMC SAN, and backup environments
- Manage and support firewalls, WAN, wireless networks, and field connectivity
- Provide Level 3 support for server, application, and field systems
- Monitor system performance, logs, backups, and security platforms to ensure system health and compliance
- Support Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365 environments
- Participate in infrastructure projects and collaborate with external vendors
- Perform scheduled maintenance, upgrades, patches, and after-hours work as required
