Job Title: Quality Supervisor
Position Summary
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading and maintaining quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and industry standards. The Quality Supervisor will oversee audits, inspections, continuous improvement initiatives, and corrective actions while providing leadership to quality team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead quality assurance activities in a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Perform and lead internal and external audits, including serving as a Lead Auditor or Internal Quality Auditor.
  • Support and enforce quality systems and standards, including ISO requirements.
  • Apply Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and statistical tools to analyze data, identify trends, and drive process improvements.
  • Identify quality issues and lead problem-solving efforts using 8D methodology and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct inspections and measurements using tools such as Vernier calipers, tape measures, low-E detectors, digital protractors, and argon testers.
  • Interpret architectural and shop drawings to ensure product conformity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding quality issues, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation using computer-based systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and promote a safe working environment.
  • Travel minimally to suppliers or job sites as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
  • Post-secondary education in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a lead or supervisor in a quality manufacturing environment.
  • Background in Unitized Curtainwall manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Experience as a Lead Auditor or Internal Quality Auditor is required.
Certifications (Strongly Preferred)
  • ASQ, CQE, CQA
  • ISO Lead Auditor
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Practical knowledge of Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and statistical data analysis.
  • Proficient in the use of measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including direct customer interaction.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overlapping or alternate shifts as required.
  • Health and safety knowledge preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Flexible hours may be required to support multiple shifts.
  • Minimal travel to suppliers and job sites as needed.
