Overview
This is a hands-on Purchasing role inside a fast-paced manufacturing environment — not a back-office planning job.
You’ll own supplier relationships, negotiations, and material flow, ensuring production never stops due to shortages, delays, or poor vendor performance. If you’re strong on the procurement side (not just scheduling) and know how to push suppliers, control costs, and keep operations moving — this is where you fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own end-to-end purchasing to support production and meet delivery timelines
- Build and manage supplier relationships — pricing, performance, and accountability
- Negotiate costs, terms, and lead times to drive savings and efficiency
- Issue and manage purchase orders, confirmations, and supplier follow-ups
- Resolve supplier issues (late shipments, quality, pricing discrepancies)
- Work closely with production to ensure material availability at all times
- Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Coordinate inbound logistics and ensure on-time material flow
- Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems
- Support inventory strategy to avoid shortages or excess
👉 You will touch planning/scheduling, but the priority is strong purchasing execution
What You Bring
- 3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing
- Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and control costs
- Strong understanding of production environments and material flow
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication — able to push suppliers and influence internally
Nice to Have:
- APICS certification (or working toward it)
- Experience with international sourcing / logistics
