Motive Power Technician
Reports To: Service Managers
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (PST)
Start Date: As soon as available Status: Full-Time, Permanent
Wage: $30–$40/hr (depending on experience)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Motive Power Technician to join our Delta Service team. Reporting to the Service Managers, this position is responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing industrial batteries and chargers both on-site and at customer locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, customer-focused technician who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and providing high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
· Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on industrial batteries and chargers for customers.
· Pick up and deliver chargers or other equipment related to service work.
· Install batteries, chargers, and/or related equipment as required to support field service activities.
· Conduct safety and operational tests to ensure proper performance.
· Maintain communication with customers, dispatch, peers, and management in a courteous and professional manner.
· Complete all required paperwork accurately and submit it promptly to the dispatch office.
· Maintain a clean, professional appearance and wear provided uniforms.
· Keep the company service vehicle clean and organized; report any issues to the supervisor.
· Manage the service van’s parts inventory effectively.
· Forward any potential service, sales, rental, or racking sales leads to the dispatch office.
· Attend all provided training sessions and stay current with new technologies.
· Maintain personal safety awareness and ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards.
· Pass Qualitative Mask Fit Testing as required.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Minimum 3 years of experience as a Motive Power Technician, Millwright, Service Technician, or Field Service Technician.
· Experience repairing industrial batteries and chargers is a strong asset.
· Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; able to read schematics and service manuals.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean 5-year driver’s abstract.
· Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
· Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.
· Must provide and maintain your own set of basic hand tools.
· CSA-approved steel-toed boots required (part of PPE).
Additional Details
· Some off-site or customer-site work may be required.
· Shift flexibility may be needed depending on customer schedules.
· Compliance with company and client safety, confidentiality, and operational policies is required.
