Position: 310T Truck Mechanic
Pay: $45.09/hour for licensed 310T Technicians
Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM Monday- Thursday
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Position Overview: 310T Truck Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced and dependable 310T Truck and Coach Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, inspection, and preventative maintenance of a fleet of waste management vehicles. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, electrical systems, and more.
Key Responsibilities: 310T Truck Mechanic
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a variety of trucks and equipment
  • Inspect and repair brake systems, steering components, wheel bearings, and suspension systems
  • Maintain and service diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Diagnose issues using diagnostic software and tools, and perform accurate repairs
  • Repair and adjust air brake systems, suspension components, and hydraulics
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure vehicle compliance with MTO and company safety standards
  • Complete work orders and maintenance reports thoroughly and accurately
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators regarding maintenance needs
  • Respond to on-road service calls within the Durham Region as required
Qualifications: 310T Truck Mechanic
  • Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license
    – OR –
    3rd or 4th-year Apprentice, or at least 3 years of hands-on experience as a licensed 310T mechanic
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting schematics and technical manuals
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Regular exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends, if needed
