Project Manager – Mechanical (Buildings & Building Systems) – Vancouver, BC
A well-established and growing Canadian engineering consulting firm is seeking a Project Manager – Mechanical to join its expanding Vancouver team. Position Overview
In this role, you will lead and support mechanical-focused projects, providing practical and innovative solutions to complex building challenges, particularly in restoration and energy improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with internal teams, mentor junior staff, and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Collaboration
- Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented approach and lead by example
- Support mentorship and knowledge sharing among junior team members

Client Engagement & Representation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants
- Represent the firm professionally at meetings and industry events
- Support ongoing business development through exceptional service delivery
Technical & Project Delivery
- Prepare mechanical construction documents and equipment specifications
- Conduct site evaluations and mechanical system assessments
- Contribute to technical report writing, including building condition assessments
- Support and deliver:
- Mechanical equipment assessments
- HVAC and plumbing system design consulting
- Mechanical consulting for new and existing buildings
- Depreciation reports and warranty reviews
- Assist with project coordination to ensure successful and timely delivery
- Participate in feasibility studies and lifecycle analysis
Professional Development
- Continuously develop technical expertise and stay current with industry trends and best practices
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a focus on existing buildings
- Proven experience in HVAC and plumbing systems design, lifecycle analysis, and cost estimation within Canadian projects
- Registered, or actively pursuing registration, with the relevant provincial engineering association (e.g., EGBC)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong client-service mindset
- A collaborative team player with a proactive and growth-oriented attitude
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary in the range of $80,000 – $100,000, commensurate with experience
- Performance-based profit sharing, typically adding approximately 15% to total compensation
