Job Title: Material Handler (Forklift) with Manufacturing Experience
Location: North York, ON
Type: Full-time, Permanent Shift: 6am to 3pm OR 3pm to 00h00
Pay: $24–$27 / hour (depending on experience)
About the role
Join a stable, hands-on manufacturing team as a dual-role CNC Laser Operator and Material Handler. This position blends safe forklift operation with light machine setup and production support — ideal for candidates who enjoy both material handling and working closely with shop-floor machinery.
What you’ll do
- Operate a forklift to move, stage, and load/unload sheet materials throughout the shop
- Load and unload metal sheets onto CNC laser equipment and assist with safe material handling during cutting operations
- Support basic CNC setup and operation; help with routine machine prep and changeovers
- Read and follow work orders, shop drawings, and production instructions to meet quality standards
- Assist the production lead with workflow, housekeeping, and continuous improvement activities
- Participate in safety checks and maintain a tidy, organized workspace
Must-have experience
- Minimum 3 years operating forklifts (Counterbalance and Reach) in a manufacturing or production environment
- Comfortable working with heavy materials and performing safe load/unload operations
- Familiarity with CNC or other machine environments; hands-on setup experience is a strong plus
- Ability to read shop drawings and follow manufacturing instructions accurately
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in typical manufacturing conditions (noise, dust, variable temperatures)
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Nice-to-have
- Prior experience loading/unloading metal sheets on CNC laser or plasma equipment
- Basic CNC setup or machine-operating experience
- Experience with HMI screens or basic production data entry
