About This Role
We are looking for a motivated and versatile Human Resources Generalist to join the corporate office in Mississauga. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will work closely with a small, high-performing HR team and partner with restaurant leadership to support, engage, and retain employees.
We are looking for a motivated and versatile Human Resources Generalist to join the corporate office in Mississauga. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will work closely with a small, high-performing HR team and partner with restaurant leadership to support, engage, and retain employees.
In this role, you will provide coaching, guidance, and support in areas including:
- Employee wellness, health & safety, and engagement initiatives
- Early and Safe Return to Work program administration
- Performance management, professional development, and conflict resolution
- Workplace investigations
- Policy creation, compliance, and training programs
- Group benefit plan administration
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a primary HR contact for employees and leadership.
- Conduct HR audits and communicate findings to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop policies, procedures, and training materials to support compliance and best practices.
- Draft employee communications and provide coaching on effective messaging.
- Lead legally defensible workplace investigations, including internal conflicts or regulatory inquiries.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors to manage return-to-work programs.
- Support the administration of group benefit plans.
- Provide leadership with resources and guidance to handle HR matters effectively and compliantly.
- Prepare accurate HR reports and dashboards for trend analysis and workforce planning.
- Monitor compliance with legal and internal processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Undergraduate degree in HR or a related field; post-graduate HR certifications preferred. CHRP designation required or near completion; CHRL preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of corporate HR experience supporting 1,000+ employees across multiple sites. QSR or retail experience preferred.
- Expertise in talent management, employee relations, conflict resolution, investigations, occupational health & safety compliance, absence management, and legal risk mitigation.
- Proficiency with HR platforms (e.g., UKG Pro/UltiPro) and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Reliable, credible, and able to work independently while supporting a small team.
- Ability to provide solutions, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
