Compensation:

Responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Payroll:
- Process bi-weekly payroll and review employee timecards for compliance.
- Handle hourly and salary payroll as well as processing irregular adjustments such as increases, vacation, commission, bonuses, allowances etc
- Administration of Benefits:
- Handle enrollments, status changes, and terminations
- Calculate premium portions
- Assist with STD claims
- Administration of RRSP program:
- Handle enrollments and terminations
- Submit contribution listings
- Other tasks such as ROEs and T4s, tracking vacation and sick days, reporting and remitting EHT, Worksafe BC, and WCB, and prepare payroll journal entries
- Human Resources:
- Full-cycle recruitment including job postings, screening, conducting interviews, completing criminal and reference checks preparing Employment Offers
- Create/adjust orientation and onboarding processes to ensure that new employees are set up for success from day 1
- Conduct exit interviews, assist with corporate events, and manage HR communications
- Update company policies and the Employee Handbook annually
- Review SOPs and ensure up-to-date compliance
- Be the point of contact for all employee questions on the above
Requirements:
- 3+ years of HR & payroll experience, ideally within a non-union environment
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification
- Candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Must possess a positive demeanor, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of Canadian Payroll legislation & BC employment law
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical to success in this role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate Excel skills are strongly desired.
