Position Overview:
The Head Sommelier elevates the dining experience by providing expert guidance to guests, ensuring seamless wine service and assisting the Food and Beverage Director in curating an exceptional wine program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversee the day-to-day operations of the wine program
•Manage wine service standards and ensure consistent execution by the sommelier team
•Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth service integration
•Perform other duties as assigned
•Conduct regular training sessions for restaurant staff on wine knowledge and service
•Mentor sommeliers on the team and support their professional growth
•Assist in the onboarding of new sommelier team members
•Manage the wine cellar, ensuring proper storage and rotation of inventory
•Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations
•Place orders for wine restocking
•Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings for guests
•Handle guest inquiries and special requests related to the wine program
•Lead wine tastings and educational sessions for guests
Qualifications Required:

•Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant.
•In-depth knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and vintages.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Strong customer service orientation with a passion for enhancing the dining experience.
•Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant environment.
•Ability to lift and carry wine cases, stand for extended periods, and move comfortably in a restaurant setting.
