About the Role
Fuze HR is partnering with a leading Canadian manufacturing and fulfillment organization to identify a Finance Analyst professional to join their Canadian Finance team. This role is analytical and operational in nature, focusing on financial insights, operational efficiency, and business performance. It is not a transactional controller role, but a strategic finance leadership position with long-term succession potential.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality reporting and analysis, deliver actionable insights, and ensure operational and finance teams are informed for accurate decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across plants and fulfillment sites to drive cost optimization, profitability, and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver actionable financial insights and analysis to influence business decisions, including business planning, forecasting, and value creation.
- Partner with operations teams to drive cost control, optimize processes, and improve operational efficiency.
- Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly close processes.
- Provide leadership and guidance to operational finance team members.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for finance processes and information flow.
- Present complex data clearly to support decision-making and performance improvement.
Position Scope
- Oversight of Operations Finance in Canada with 1 direct report.
- Strong partnership with operations across plants and fulfillment sites.
- Heavy focus on operational analytics, cost control, and performance improvement.
- Long-term growth and succession potential (5–7 years).
- Drill into SAP-based operational data to identify profit improvement opportunities.
- Support cost control initiatives including scrap, overtime, scheduling, and vendor/customer accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in manufacturing/operations finance.
- Strong SAP experience (purchasing screens, production/sales orders, GL inquiry).
- Manufacturing background in standard costing, machine-hour costing, or fulfillment/headcount-based costing.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Ability to interpret large datasets and translate them into business insights.
- Proven experience driving change and influencing business partners.
- Clear and mature communication style; comfortable collaborating across functions.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to financial planning and reporting tools such as Hyperion (FCCS) and PCBS.
- Familiarity with capital approvals, project management, and ERP systems.
- Ability to provide actionable recommendations that improve operational performance.
Work Environment
- Primarily office/manufacturing environment.
- Rotational travel to fulfillment sites (weekly rotation).
- Standard hours: 8:00–4:30; peak month-end may require 11–12 hours.
- Not a high-hour transactional environment; outcome-driven senior role.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000–$100,000 CAD (reconfirmation pending).
- Vacation: 3 weeks (flexible for experienced hires).
- Benefits: Immediate coverage, including dental, health, and wellness programs.
- RRSP Match: 5% employee / 4% company.
- Performance Bonus: Targeted, based on operational and financial performance.
Team Structure
- Current Finance Team: 3 members + 1 data specialist.
- This role will be a senior addition with 1 direct report (Ops Finance Analyst).
- Reports to Canadian Finance Leader (Lyall).
