What are the Responsibilities? Red Seal Truck and Trailer or Heavy Equipment Mechanics

  • Operate service truck in remote or customer worksites, travelling within specified region centred around Fort St John
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain OEM class 6,7, and 8 vehicles in the field (on customer sites, etc)
  • Test systems and components using computerized diagnostic tools and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
  • Replace faulty components/parts as necessary to maintain functionality and performance
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure professional quality detail and craftsmanship
  • Communicate effectively with Service/Field Service Manager and customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and repeat business

What are the Requirements? Red Seal Truck and Trailer or Heavy Equipment Mechanics

  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Trade Qualification – truck/trailer preferred or Heavy Equipment with appropriate truck experience, will consider late stage apprentices
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant HD shop/service experience maintaining heavy trucks & trailers, field/mobile experience required
  • Process, service-oriented Candidates with dealership experience strongly preferred
  • BC Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 with air brakes or Class 1 is considered an asset)
  • Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided)
  • Must be mechanically inclined, with strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
  • Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment
  • CVIP highly desirable, but will consider candidates without
  • Preference for individuals with formal training/certifications in Daimler, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, etc.
  • Must be comfortable in the field, dealing directly with customers and providing sound expertise
