About the Role
Our multi-trade client seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator II to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing tenders, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for projects ranging from $350K to $5M. Working closely with division leadership, project managers, safety, procurement, and other key stakeholders, you will play a vital role in ensuring that bids are thorough, competitive, and aligned with their corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze project documentation including tenders, technical drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (project management, safety, purchasing) to gather input and ensure accuracy.
  • Review historical project data, market trends, labor costs, and project-specific factors.
  • Request clarification on tenders and address scope changes as needed.
  • Update estimates to reflect new information and evolving project requirements.
  • Identify potential cost uncertainties and incorporate contingencies into estimates.
  • Support project teams by estimating change orders and revisions during execution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all estimate documentation.
  • Promote and adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications
Required:
  • 3–7+ years of experience in multi-trade construction estimating for projects up to $5M.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and Accubid or equivalent estimating software.
  • College diploma, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent trade certification/experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and time management abilities.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in unionized, multi-trade construction environments.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based with some travel required to project sites (5–40%).
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 20 lbs and conducting site walkthroughs to assess job requirements.
  • Requires visual acuity for reading and analyzing documents.
