About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Estimating Manager to lead the estimating efforts within our division. Reporting directly to the Division Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the development and accuracy of cost estimates, managing a team of Estimators (Levels I-III), and driving continuous process improvement.
The Estimating Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring estimating standards are met, change orders are accurately processed, and large or complex projects are effectively estimated. This position also collaborates closely with Project Managers and the Purchasing Department to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and actively promote a positive safety culture.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the performance and development of estimating team members.
- Personally develop estimates for large and complex multi-trade construction projects.
- Review estimator progress to ensure all proposals are accurate, timely, and complete.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage change orders and adjustments.
- Create and implement efficient estimating processes and policies.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
- Leverage market knowledge to identify new project opportunities.
- Report regularly on estimating activity to the Division Manager and project stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction estimating experience on projects over $10M.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel), AutoCAD, and Accubid Estimating Software (or equivalent).
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- College Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, trade certification, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
