Assembler – Electrical

Job Summary:

The job of the Assembler – Electrical is to assemble panels, unit wiring of the machinery, test and troubleshoot. The Assembler – Electrical is responsible for fabrication of quality electrical panels, as well as the wiring of all full chiller or heat pumps. Unit wiring is both for power wiring as well as sensors and switch wiring.

· Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30 am – 5 pm, Fri 7:30 am – 11:30 am

· Salary: $21 per hour permanent, full time, overtime as required

· After Probation Period:

· Voluntary RRSP/RPP with company matching up to 5% after 1 year employment (once probationary period is completed)

· Safety shoe and prescription safety glasses allowance (once probationary period is completed)

Responsibilities and Duties:

·Layout, assembly and wiring of electrical control panels and machinery wiring

·Reading and interpreting electrical schematic drawings and specifications

·Drilling and cutting holes for electrical power devices and instrumentation

·Mounting and wiring of electrical devices, motors and instrumentation in the machine

·Ability to troubleshoot electrical panels and rectify issues

·Properly use tools and equipment to assemble components into panels

·Following strict methods and procedures

·Keep equipment and working area organized, clean and safe

·Route wires/cables through machine chassis and terminate at terminal strips

·Work independently as required

·Assist co-workers as needed to complete projects and assigned tasks

·Ensures safe work practices of equipment are used at all times

·All other tasks as required

Qualifications and Skills:

·Minimum two years of experience in wiring electrical panels

·Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematic diagrams

·Excellent communication both written and verbal in English language

·Must work well with others within a team environment and individually

·Ability to organize work under tight project deadline constraints

·Ability to use hand and power tools

·Laying out and mounting components to panel back plates

·Keeping work station clean and fully stocked

·Must be detailed orientated and strive to build a quality product

·Excellent hand/ eye co-ordination

·Knowledge of refrigeration circuits/plumbing is an asset

·Mechanical assembly aptitude
