An established, employee-owned engineering firm is seeking a Division Manager – Survey to lead its London-based Survey Division.

Services include civil and structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, building and environmental science, and land surveying.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute annual business plans for the London Survey Division
-
Monitor financial performance, including revenue, margins, utilization, WIP, AR, and write-downs
-
Prepare monthly performance reports and liaise regularly with senior sector leadership

Lead, mentor, and support a team of surveyors, engineers, and technologists

Conduct performance reviews and support staff development and succession planning

Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, consistency, and client satisfaction

Assign work, manage schedules, and balance resources effectively

Collaborate with technical and divisional leaders to promote best practices and operational consistency

Manage individual projects and contribute to proposals and business development efforts

Foster strong relationships with existing clients and build new client partnerships

Oversee, prepare, and review survey deliverables including Reference Plans, Subdivision Plans, Plans of Condominium, Real Property Reports, and other survey documents

Provide technical guidance, constructability input, and quality assurance across projects

Perform additional duties as required to support divisional and organizational objectives
Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent (preferred)

Licensed Ontario Land Surveyor (asset, not required)

10+ years of experience in the surveying industry, including at least 5 years in a management or leadership role

Demonstrated experience managing teams, budgets, and business performance

Strong understanding of surveying and engineering principles, standards, and practices

Solid financial acumen, including budgeting, contracts, and performance tracking

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor teams

Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making abilities

High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills

Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
