We are looking to hire a contract Red Seal Millwright for a 6 to 12-month assignment in beautiful Squamish, BC!

Due to the short-term nature of the positions, we are specifically looking for local candidates, no LOA or accommodation available. Work will start immediately and will likely run for a full year. Overview

As a Millwright your role is to provide mechanical equipment maintenance service and support the Innovation Plant
operations. Your primary focus will be to assist Plant operations by maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical
equipment including motors, pumps, valves, evaporators, fans and other related equipment. Your role will also require
the ability to remove equipment hatchways and piping flanges to provide access for the Operations team to complete
inspections and cleanout related tasks.
Core Responsibilities

Safety
  • Demonstrate a positive safety culture within the Maintenance Team and throughout the organization.
  • Follow any applicable codes for all work performed.
  • Implement and maintain Safe Work Permits (SWPs) for Plant maintenance, upgrades and operations.
  • Maintain the Pilot and Innovation Plant in a safe operating condition in line with all applicable regulations.
  • Ensure safety-critical mechanical systems are maintained in good working order.
  • Identify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace.
  • Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated company policy.
  • Complete training curriculum on BRIDGE system.
Technical
  • Carry out preventive and condition-based maintenance equipment with a focus on mechanical process maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Engineering Team in designing and planning of plant modifications.
  • Lead the mechanical installation of new equipment and provide support during commissioning of new equipment.
  • Participate in maintenance program reviews updating tasks and schedules for maintenance on mechanical equipment and other plant hardware.
  • Identify, develop, install, and implement upgrades on existing equipment.
  • Support critical lift tasks related to crane lifts and relevant activities.
  • Complete work orders as assigned while ensuring detailed notes are recorded for future reference.
  • Provide specialist support to modification and upgrade of electromechanical systems.
  • Carry out fabrication, welding and pipe fitting work as required in support of engineered changes.
  • Provide specialist maintenance input to plant design reviews at all lifecycle stages.
  • Identify, capture and communicate lessons learned and implement solutions where appropriate.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Provide specialist support to Engineering and Operations in the development of new equipment layout installation.
  • Foster and maintain a positive culture within the Maintenance Team by promoting effective teamwork.
  • Mentor junior maintenance staff and other employees to foster a safe workplace and teach best practices associated with mechanical maintenance.
  • Carry out site tours as required for third party inspections and certifications of equipment as required.
Education and Experience
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Millwright required.
  • Pipefitter experience and/or welder certification is an asset.
  • 5+ years maintenance experience following Red Seal certification, preferably in an industrial/chemical production environment.
  • Experience commissioning industrial facilities is highly desired.
  • Forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift Certification are an asset.
  • Confined Space Entry/Rescue Certification is an asset.
  • Min Level 1 First Aid certification required; CE will provide external certification.
