Continuous Improvement Engineer – Brampton
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead focused improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Leadership teams to drive a culture of continuous improvement, eliminate process losses, and deliver measurable performance and cost improvements.
The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capability with hands-on leadership, coaching teams to apply Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies on the shop floor while ensuring improvements are sustained over time.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and eliminate operational losses using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Drive replication of successful improvements across similar processes and areas.
  • Embed daily kaizen and continuous improvement practices into routine operations.
Project Execution & Analysis
  • Apply Lean, WCM, and CI tools (e.g., root cause analysis, SPC, SMED, poka-yoke) to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Use data and statistical methods to analyze process performance and validate improvements.
  • Ensure corrective actions are effective, standardized, and sustained.
Training & Coaching
  • Train and coach operators, technicians, engineers, and leaders in CI and Lean methodologies.
  • Develop internal CI capability by mentoring project leaders and supporting skill development.
Digital, Data & Performance Tracking
  • Track project progress, KPIs, and the financial impact of improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of cost savings, productivity gains, and operational improvements.
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Support continuous improvement in workplace safety, environmental performance, and product quality.
  • Participate in investigations and root cause analysis related to safety or quality issues.
  • Support compliance with quality systems, audits, and customer requirements as needed.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 3 years in a continuous improvement, process, or quality engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean / WCM principles and tools (e.g., VSM, 5S, SMED, OEE, SPC, root cause analysis).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional improvement projects with measurable results.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and data-driven decision-making skills.
Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with CI digital platforms and performance dashboards.
  • Proficiency with statistical and analytics tools (e.g., Minitab, Power BI).
  • Experience training and coaching CI practitioners.
