Designer – Civil Engineering Site Development | Kitchener
Overview
A leading multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer to join its Site Development team in Kitchener. Role Summary
The Designer will support a variety of industrial, commercial, institutional (ICI), and residential site development projects. This role involves hands-on design and analysis, preparation of technical documentation, and coordination with project teams to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform engineering design and analysis, including storm and sanitary sewer systems, site grading, water distribution systems, and stormwater management modelling.
· Prepare functional servicing reports and stormwater management reports/briefs.
· Ensure design documents align with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
· Communicate design intent to CAD staff and support drafting workflows.
· Participate in project team meetings and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
· Conduct field reviews during construction, as required.
· Support additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
· 0–3 years of related experience (co-op experience accepted).
· Working toward P.Eng. designation.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
· Experience preparing technical reports.
· Familiarity with AutoCAD.
