Project / Program Overview
Join a global biotech & diagnostics leader’s sequencing group to advance next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms used by clinicians and researchers. You’ll help build scalable, secure automation that powers high-throughput genomic data analysis for diagnostics and oncology research.
Role Summary
We’re seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to own end-to-end test automation for distributed, cloud-aware NGS data analysis products. You’ll define strategy, build frameworks and pipelines, and drive quality across UI, API, performance, and reliability in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain an end-to-end automation framework for UI and API (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript; Cypress/Playwright/Selenium; Cucumber; TestNG/JUnit).

Create requirements-based test cases, coverage maps, and quality gates; contribute to design history documentation.

Implement automated API tests (REST Assured); integrate into GitHub Actions CI/CD and quality dashboards.

Improve unit/integration test coverage; perform peer code reviews; manage defects in Jira.

Develop load & performance tests (JMeter, k6); analyze bottlenecks and partner with Engineering for remediation.

Work within Scaled Agile practices across Architecture, Dev, DevOps, and Bioinformatics.
Must-Have Requirements

B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related field.

5+ years in SDET / software test engineering with strong automation ownership.

Proficiency in Java and JavaScript; hands-on UI automation (Cypress/Playwright/Selenium) and API automation (REST Assured).

BDD experience (Cucumber) and solid Agile tooling/practices.

Working knowledge of microservices, CI/CD, Linux & shell scripting; familiarity with Docker and AWS concepts.
Nice-to-Have Requirements

TypeScript, Spring, advanced REST Assured usage.

Experience with infrastructure/framework testing and/or bioinformatics software validation.
