The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an accomplished Senior Environmental Project Manager to join a highly experienced and respected team of environmental professionals.
This role is ideal for a senior consultant who thrives in a consulting environment, enjoys leading large and complex projects, and is motivated by full project ownership from conception through to completion. You will play a key role in project delivery, client relationships, business development, and mentorship, while working alongside some of the most respected environmental leaders in the industry.
Projects are large, complex, and highly varied, supporting multiple sectors including Municipal, Civil Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, Land Development, Power, and Transportation, among others.
As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will:
  • Lead the planning, organization, and execution of complex environmental projects from initial concept through to final delivery
  • Maintain full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to a high technical standard
  • Build, strengthen, and sustain long‑term client relationships that support repeat work and future opportunities
  • Collaborate with regulators, contractors, Indigenous communities, and multidisciplinary consultants to support project success
  • Play a key role in business development initiatives, including opportunity tracking, strategic planning, and proposal development
  • Lead proposals, cost estimates, and resourcing strategies for new and repeat work
  • Uphold and enhance the firm’s reputation as an industry leader in environmental consulting
  • Mentor, train, and support junior and intermediate staff, fostering technical growth and professional confidence
  • Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement across projects
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and respectful team culture across offices, regions, and disciplines
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 10-15 years of environmental consulting experience in Alberta
  • Degree or diploma in a related discipline (e.g., Biology, Ecology or Environmental Science)
  • Relevant designations e.g. P.Bio or R.P.Bio
  • Extensive experience within the environmental consulting industry
  • Demonstrated senior‑level project management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, scope management, and team leadership
  • Extensive experience with scope development and technical reports
  • Strong understanding of provincial and federal environmental legislation, standards, and regulatory processes
  • Minimum of 5+ years of prior field experience within Biology focused on projects such as: Aquatic, Terrestrial, Wildlife and Vegetation Surveys, Fish Distribution studies, Population Indexing, Ecosystem Inventories & Mapping, Rare plant inventories, Species at Risk Surveys, Nesting Bird Sweeps, Environment Assessments & Permitting
  • Proven client development skills, including client relationship management, proposal writing, and strategic growth planning
  • Highly organized, self‑directed, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience producing high‑quality reports and proposals
  • Collaborative leadership style with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, capable of navigating complex technical, regulatory, and stakeholder challenges
  • Passion for coaching, mentoring teams and growing teams
