About the Opportunity
A fast-growing Toronto-based technology company is building advanced products in the sports betting space. Their platform helps users compare sportsbook markets and odds, identify stronger betting opportunities, and make more informed decisions.
The team is focused on expanding a high-traffic product that aggregates real-time sportsbook data, historical odds, and market information across a growing number of sports and leagues worldwide. As the platform continues to scale globally, they are looking to add a strong backend / platform engineer who can help build and improve the systems behind it.
What You’ll Be Working On
You will help scale the backend infrastructure powering a product that aggregates sportsbook data and betting markets from multiple sources. This includes building systems that ingest, process, and serve large volumes of real-time and historical data.
Key areas of work include:

Building and scaling backend systems for real-time sportsbook data ingestion

Designing and improving data pipelines that aggregate odds and market data from multiple sources

Supporting platform expansion across global sports, leagues, and betting markets
-
Contributing to architecture and system design decisions as the platform grows

Helping build reliable, high-performance services and APIs for data-driven products
-
Working closely with a small engineering team to ship quickly and solve practical problems
What They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a strong backend or platform engineer who enjoys working on data-heavy systems in a startup environment.
You likely bring:

Strong backend engineering in Python/Go

Frontend – React, NodeJS

Experience building scalable APIs, backend services, or data platforms

Experience working with real-time, high-frequency, or event-driven data

Strong system design and architecture thinking

Ability to take ownership of meaningful parts of a product

Comfort working in a small, collaborative, fast-moving engineering team
