We’re seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced meat/food manufacturing facility. This role is primarily floor-based (80% production floor / 20% reporting & admin) and ideal for a leader who thrives in operations, problem-solving, and team development.
What You’ll Do
- Directly manage 7–8 team leads / direct reports
- Lead daily shift handovers and production meetings
- Spend 80% of your time on the production floor, driving standards and performance
- Ensure production targets, KPIs, GMP, HACCP, and OHSA compliance are met
- Monitor and reduce downtime, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement corrective actions
- Identify areas for continuous improvement (efficiency, waste reduction, workflow)
- Maintain and enforce production and food safety standards
- Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, Sanitation, HR, and Logistics
- Complete end-of-shift production reports and performance summaries
What You Bring
- 5+ years’ supervisory experience in food manufacturing (meat experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and OHSA
- Proven ability to resolve production and equipment issues in real time
- Comfortable leading discussions with general labourers and cross-functional teams
- Adaptable, dynamic leadership style in fast-paced environments
- ERP system experience and strong reporting skills
