Position Overview:
The Senior Buyer is responsible for building and executing a cost-effective, lean procurement process that ensures a reliable supply of ingredients and packaging materials to support production schedules. This role is critical in optimizing supplier performance, controlling costs, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. The ideal candidate is strategic, data-driven, and experienced in negotiating and managing suppliers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational goals, lean principles, and cost optimization initiatives.

Manage sourcing and purchasing for ingredients and packaging materials, ensuring timely availability for production.

Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure cost-effective agreements.

Conduct market analysis to anticipate supply availability, price fluctuations, and potential risks.

Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, and regulatory documentation.

Collaborate with Production, QA, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, process improvements, and cost savings initiatives.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.

6–8 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, preferably in food, bakery, or ingredients/packaging supply.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.

Demonstrated ability to drive supplier performance, manage cost, and implement process improvements.

Lean or continuous improvement mindset is highly desirable (Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or equivalent).

PMAC, SCMP, or equivalent purchasing certification is a plus.
