Project Manager – Electrical Engineering – Mississauga

An established, employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join its Ontario-based team. The Role
Reporting to the Electrical Department leadership, the Project Manager will lead electrical engineering projects from proposal through completion. This role involves direct client interaction, cross-disciplinary coordination, and accountability for project performance, quality, and financial outcomes.
Projects span the power generation and electrical infrastructure sector, including hydroelectric facilities and associated electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multi-discipline electrical engineering projects from proposal development to project closeout
  • Plan, manage, and monitor project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular progress updates and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Coordinate project resources and assign work in collaboration with discipline and department leads
  • Oversee technical execution related to:
    • Medium-, low-, and high-voltage electrical systems
    • Power generation facilities
    • Protection and control systems
    • Power system studies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and industry requirements, including IESO, NERC, and CIP standards
  • Prepare, review, and approve technical reports and project proposals
  • Track project performance, review timesheets and expenses, and approve monthly invoices
  • Monitor invoicing, support collections, and manage project financial health
  • Complete project setup and closeout activities in accordance with internal procedures
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution; postgraduate education is an asset
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, preferably within a consulting environment
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario (or eligible for registration); multi-provincial registration is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in power generation and electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code and applicable electrical standards
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Highly proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients and project teams
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering teams is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to travel to project sites on a limited, as-needed basis
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to undergo security clearance checks
